Southern Rose Poem by Shelly Wilkerson

Her dainty hand is finely gloved She strikes a timid pose All the gents have dearly loved This Carolina Rose
Mah Deah, Ya shoulda seen it! Mah Cotillion an' comin' out! Ah dazzled 'em with mah fem'nin chah-ms, The young men swooned about! "Marrah me", all the gentlemen said "Marrah me an' be mah wife. Ya kin' even bring yer mutha, Deah. Ah'll love ya all mah life!" But Ah was nary smitten once, Despite each winsome way. Ah decided to wait for Mistah Right, Who'll come along one day.

Rose is one of my favorite Shelly Wilkerson characters. When you get to know her through the poem, she makes you realize there is little pointing in waiting for perfection - chase down your dreams and make them come true!

Southern Rose and 26 other paintings by Shelly Wilkerson are available as canvas transfers at the Naked Wall Art Gallery. All are regularly prices at $279.99 and are now on sale for only $200 including FREE Shipping in the continental US.
